Google: Accessibility Trusted Advisor
The Challenge
Even at an organization with Google's scale and resources, accessibility gaps get missed when product teams are moving fast and don't have deep accessibility expertise embedded on every team. Google's Trusted Advisor program exists to close that gap by pairing product teams with outside accessibility specialists who bring both technical WCAG expertise and lived assistive technology experience.
The Goal
Give Google product teams direct access to expert accessibility review and prioritization guidance, so gaps get caught and fixed before launch rather than after a complaint or audit.
My Role
As a Trusted Advisor, I consult directly with Google product teams to identify and resolve accessibility gaps, applying deep WCAG compliance and inclusive design expertise alongside my own experience as a native screen reader user. I work as part of a cohort of 14 accessibility experts evaluating and improving technology accessibility across the portfolio, bringing recommendations that balance technical compliance with how assistive technology is actually used day to day.
