You might remember me from Design is lagging — UX teams have an inclusivity problem. I got a very lengthy response that tl;dr is "I didn't see overt bias happen or knowingly participate in any discrimination, so it must not exist." The same sentiment is expressed to me at networking events, parties, and even in the workplace, often with no provocation.

This is essentially genderblindness — gender is removed from the conversation as a frame for viewing issues, instead employing a meritocratic approach that says an individual is solely responsible for what happens to them, no matter the effect of privilege or marginalization.
